Crikey! It’s Cold!

Oh my! It’s a chilly Pacific Northwest day, week, maybe month even! My thermometer is reading 22 degrees. The official temperature from states it’s 19 degrees! Whu? This is not the norm. That would be 46. The record low was 21 in 1972. It would seem we are in the 30 year-ish loop. But this is cold!

Now I am not a complainer, not usually allthetimeboutsumptin but I can’t feel my legs- just yet. I’ve been in the house for 30 minutes now and I still can’t feel my legs. Wait I should clarify: I can reach down and ‘feel’ my legs, and I can move them but they don’t ‘feel’ like they are on. It’s like there is nothing from the waist down. The skin covering my legs *underlayersofskivviesandpants* is cold. Cold to the touch, cold to the ‘feel’ and sorta has that ‘itssocolditburns’ sensation. But that means they are warming back up right?

How did this happen? I mean I am not a healthy type go out and run *foreveralldayworkupasweat* type. My morning exercise consists of a 20 minute ‘workout’. During that 20 minutes, I only JOG, not run, about 5 of them. The rest of the time I am walking-briskly-but walking. I wear my layers. Many of them because I knew it was cold out. How did the freeze happen? I warmed up appropriately. Even and did a cool down to properly care for my buff muscles. But I kept that short as to get back into my car with the heater that emits tropical breezes a steady stream of warm air.

Oh my legs. They are cold. They are frozen, just a tad. I must layer better.

I’ve been tagged and now I’m IT

There is a virtual game of tag going on and I’m the current “IT”. I must confess, it’s nice to be the “IT” girl for once *egoboost*! Thanks to an fun and awesome gal for taggin me in the fun of entering a Holiday Contest! Michelle at:

Now who shall I tag…

Entering is so easy, all you do answer the List below:

Mama’s Holiday Wish List Meme:

TodaysMama and Provo Craft are giving away a sleighful of gifts this holiday season and to enter I’m sharing this meme with you.

1. What 5 items are on your holiday wish list this year?

  • Foiled by Blue October
  • Exciter by Depeche Mode
  • Kitchen towel rack
  • cd visor thingy for the car
  • a smile from my children as the first thing I see Christmas morning

2. What is your favorite handmade gift you ever received?

  • This one is so easy-my Mom used to sew us dresses, jammies and stuffed animals. I love them all. If I had to choose just one, I couldn’t. Really. I can’t.

3. What handmade gift have you always wanted to tackle?

  • Uhhh, yeah, uhh…nothing really. I am not very crafty. Yes I scrapbook, but I don’t consider that crafty. Not they way I scrap. I don’t really ‘do’ any crafts. Ummm, I cook. But I usually eat what I cook. Feed my family. I cook from scratch that is enough creativity for me.

4. What was the best Christmas gift you ever received as a child?

  • Hmmm, that beautiful Indian Painted Pony with the Star on her forehead…oh what, it has to be a real gift actually received. Yes, yes of course. So then it would be my brothers banana seat bike! I loved that thing! He got a new bike one year due the fact he grew and as it usually happened I got his hand-me-downs. I loved that bike! Love, love, loved it! Mostly cause it was his first. I’m not even sure this was a Christmas present, it could have been for his birthday…

5.  What items are on your kids wish list this year?

  • X-box system (so not happening)
  • Uncharted 1&2
  • Legos
  • Wowee Baby Alive Pets
  • 3 Mustketeers Barbie
  • – I am sensing a bit of commercialism in my offspring…

6. What is your favorite holiday food?

  • Satsuma oranges from Japan. Imported only during this season

7. What will you be handcrafting for the holidays?

  • Nothing. Nada. All store bought. Oh I am thinking of going to Joanns for holiday fabric to wrap the presents in! Does that count?

8. What is your favorite holiday movie?

  • Only one? Then I guess I’ll say The Little Drummer Boy by Rankin and Bass

9.  Favorite Holiday Song?

  • Oh Holy Night (again only one?! I don’t think so…The First Noel, Silent Night, Angels We Have Heard On High, Hark the Hearald Angels Sing…so many!)

10. Favorite Holiday past time?

  • This one is easy, time. Time with friends. Time with family. Time being together in the warm love of Jesus Christs’ birth. Finding the smiles on peoples faces wether I know them or not. Seeing the delight and joy in and on people. It all means love to me. My favorite past time is watching the love go round and round, sink deep into our souls and light our eyes. Nothing is better. Nothing.

And there it is. My turn is over and it’s time to tag another. You’re “IT” Shana!

A Name Change

I know, I know. It’s been awhile since I’ve posted a blog. Not that I haven’t had any ideas or funny things to share. Mostly it’s cos I’m moody. And fickle. And lazy. Yes it’s all true. I apologize my public of a handful, my intentions were not to keep you in suspense this long.

Why a name change? That is a a double whammy-I know. Again I am sorry. You will have to re-bookmark me. (It’s ok, I know you really hadn’t done that yet anyway, I still love you). Here is the thing, when I started my blog I made a mistake during the set up phase. You need to remember my awesome technological skillz people-they are astounding in ways you can not even imagine! So during the set up phase I did not name my blog, wordpress filled that in for me. I did not know how to change it to what I wanted. In all honesty I really didn’t have a ‘for sure’ name yet anyway. So I left it as it was. Time passed. I tried to learn where to change it, but without a true blog name, I wasn’t very thorough or motivated. More time passes.

At a wonderful and wonderfully deserved scrapbook retreat ‘the name’ hit me! I spoke it out loud and it struck back into my head. Like a ringing bell and clanging symbol, it stuck. I let it settle upon for awhile to see if it was right. Usually when one hears bells and symbols, they know. Me I like to double check, read stubborn. Well it’s been quite a bit more time and the name is still stuck, deep and it fits. I have found many levels in that depth, but have no fear some of those levels are very shallow.

I welcome you to my blog with it’s new, fitting name: Waiting For the Ink To Dry.

Let the journey begin…
